National Institute of Ayurveda, Deemed to be University (De novo), is a premier autonomous institution under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. It received Deemed to be University status in the De novo category and was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on 13 November 2020 during the 5th Ayurveda Day. As the first Central Government funded Ayurveda institute in the AYUSH sector to attain this status, it reflects a 175‑year heritage and a **commitment** to advancing Ayurveda through high standards of teaching, training, research and patient care with a scientific perspective. The Institute offers programmes at all levels, including BAMS, MD/MS and PhD in Ayurveda, DAN&P diploma, six interdisciplinary M.Sc. courses, and multiple certificate and short‑term courses. NIA also operates a large NABH‑accredited teaching hospital of around 260–280 beds, equipped with a state‑of‑the‑art Panchakarma centre, modern operation theatres, emergency care facilities, GMP‑certified pharmacy and diagnostic laboratory to deliver quality OPD and IPD services to the public.
